- Students are required to take a minimum of seven courses each semester. Each course is worth five (5) units per semester. A student may earn thirty-five (35) units in the first semester and thirty-five (35) in the second semester for a total of seventy (70) units per school year. A student must earn a minimum of 260 units to graduate.
Students must PASS core curriculum courses. A student who receives an "F" grade receives NO credit for that course. The student must make up the credits. Certain core courses must be repeated at VMHS.
8 semesters of Religion
9 semesters of Lang Arts.
6 semesters of Social Studies
4 semesters of Physical Ed. 6 semesters of Math
5 semesters of Science
4 semesters of Foreign Language
Other Requirements for graduation are the completion of 48 hours of Christian Community Service and participation in the Junior and Senior Retreats. Students may begin to fulfill this requirement during their sophomore year.
Electives are taken during the Junior and Senior year to make up the total units necessary for graduation.
Vincent Memorial's college prep requirements are in line with the University of California system. Students planning to return to the Mexican system are also easily accepted into Mexican Universities.
